How can I add or change real-time subtitle languages in EventCAT Conference?

Although it is safest to set the subtitle languages before starting the session, you can also pause the session and add or change languages during the event.

To modify the Speaking Languages (spoken by the presenter) or the Languages to be Translated (displayed as subtitles to the audience), follow the steps below:

1. How to add or change languages before the session starts

1. On the controller page, click “Edit Session” from the left sidebar.

2. Select or change the Speaking Languages and Languages to be Translated that will be shown to the audience.

  • After making your changes, click “Save and Create” to apply the updated language settings.

2. How to add or change languages during an ongoing session

  1. You can pause the real-time subtitle translation and update the language settings during the session.

  2. On the top right of the controller page, click “Stop Session” to temporarily pause the session.

Note: Stopping the session will also stop real-time subtitle translation. It is recommended to do this during a break or before/after a presentation.

  1. Then, from the left sidebar, click “Edit Session” and follow the same steps as in step 1 to update the Speaking Languages or Languages to be Translated.

  2. After saving the changes by clicking “Save and Create,” the updated settings will take effect.

To reflect the new language settings, the Preview Page (Real-Time Subtitle Page) must be refreshed. This means reopening the subtitle preview on venue screens and refreshing the subtitle page on each audience member’s personal device (e.g., phone, tablet, laptop) to apply the added or changed languages.

Finally, click “Start Session” at the top right to resume the session with the updated language settings and continue displaying real-time translated subtitles.
