Before starting a session, you can check the connected audio device (built-in mic, external mic, wireless mic, AirPods, etc.) via the Audio Input section on the right sidebar of the EventCAT controller page.
How to check microphone connection:
Go to the Audio Input section on the right sidebar.
Review the list of audio devices currently connected to your laptop or computer.
Select the microphone you wish to use (e.g., built-in mic, external mic, wireless mic, AirPods, etc.).
Speak into the microphone. If the blue sound bar below Audio Input moves in real time, it means EventCAT is successfully detecting the microphone input.
Important Notes:
If the sound bar does not move, EventCAT cannot detect the audio and therefore won’t be able to translate or generate real-time subtitles. Please check the following:
Is the correct microphone connected in your computer’s system settings or control panel?
Has your browser granted microphone access permission?
If EventCAT cannot recognize the voice input, real-time translated subtitles will not be available.
Additionally, in noisy environments, background noise may interfere with speech recognition, which could result in mistranslated or distorted subtitles. To ensure accuracy, we recommend using the microphone in a quiet environment and keeping it close to the speaker’s mouth.
