EventCAT User Guide for Rehearsal Mode
Practice makes perfect! Rehearse your event before going live.
What is Rehearsal Mode?
Rehearsal Mode lets organizers and speakers test everything before going live. It’s a private test mode where:
You can check audio, video, and captions
You can practice your presentation with translations
No attendees can see what you’re doing
How to Activate Rehearsal Mode
Step 1: Open the Session
Go to your Conference Room dashboard and find your session. Click Manage Session (gear icon)

⚠️ Our Rehearsal Mode is only available for a paid plan.
Step 2: Preview the Audience View
Click Preview in the Manage Session menu. This opens a new tab that shows how the session looks for attendees. You can check:
Caption visibility
Language selection
Layout and branding
? Note: This preview is useful to confirm everything is in place before you begin testing in the session editor.
Step 3: Enter the Session Editor
Click Edit on the session to open the Session Control Panel. This is where you’ll manage settings, test input, and run your session.
Step 4: Activate Rehearsal Mode
At the top right, click Rehearsal to enter test mode.

The preview tab updates based on your rehearsal status.
⚠️ Do not click “Start Session” while in Rehearsal Mode
Step 5: Go Live
When you’re ready,
Click “Live.”
Then click “Start Session” to officially begin.
Cations and translations will begin. Attendees can join.
Additional Tips
Use “Open Caption Overlay Page” if you made a payment. It can display captions externally
Share the sessionvia QR code or Public URL
You can switch back to Rehearsal anytime to re-test
